Novi Beograd is a large area in Belgrade, where over 200000 thousand inhabitants. The construction of the area began after the second world war. The socialist government decided to turn the swamp on the left side from the old town into a new district.  In order to comply "new socialist man", the city had to become a socialist: consistent, accessible, spacious, bright and high.

After the collapse of the Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia there was a change of government and its ideology. In recent years, thanks to the opening of many offices of large companies, the area became the business center of Serbia. However, the main part of the district have not changed.

After the collapse of Yugoslavia and the long wars, locals remember the past greatness of their country. For me the area is a symbol of the bygone era, including the socialist economy, culture, historical memory, on the remains of which people are still living.
